字紋弓蟹是恆春半島常見陸蟹種類，習慣在半鹹的海口生存，常出現在溪流出水口與海邊，恆春半島過度開放觀光後，部分海岸線已經很難遇見牠們，這次一口氣出現10萬大軍的陸蟹寶寶，相當難得，墾管處提醒民眾，觀賞時避免過近侵擾陸蟹。
